DUSHANBE, February 10, 2012, Asia-Plus – Tajik company, Kamolot-1, has won Gabriel Al-Salem International Award for Excellence in Consulting.  The company has reportedly won the award in the “Consulting Project of the Year” nomination.

The International Conference “Consulting without Borders” that took place in Almaty, Kazakhstan on February 1 addressed perspectives of management consulting business in Kazakhstan and other countries, opportunities for consultants to work on government development programs in Kazakhstan, cooperation with international donor organizations, and CMC (Certified Management Consultant) certification.

The list of participants included the Kazakhstan Ministry of Industry and Innovations, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, Kazakhstan government development institutes, international donor organizations, representatives of the ICMCI (International Council of Management Consulting Institutes), international experts, professional consulting associations from various countries, educational organizations, as well as representatives of private businesses.

At the gala dinner after the conference, the first Gabriel Al-Salem awards for Excellence in Consulting were presented to winners in the following categories: Consulting Project of the Year; Consultant of the Year; Consulting without Borders; and Most Dynamic Consulting Association.

February 1 is the birthday of Gabriel Al-Salem, who was the Director of the Central Asian BAS Program of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for ten years.  In 2010 Gabriel tragically died in a paragliding accident.  Gabriel contributed a great deal to the development of management consulting in Central Asia.  In October of 2011 the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes conferred upon him the “Member of the Meridian Order” title.  The International conference “Consulting without Borders” and the ceremony for the winners of the Gabriel Al-Salem Award for Excellence in Consulting will be held annually in various countries in Gabriel’s memory and to continue his work for promoting management consulting and market economy.

Gabriel Al-Salem International Award for Excellence in Consulting is an independent award which helps promote professional standards and ethics in management consulting.  By supporting the consulting profession the Award helps improve business environment and promote the overall economic growth in the participating countries.

Kamolot-1 is a consulting company dedicated to assist enterprises and organizations with use of modern methods of management adapted to strategic goals and features of customers.
