DUSHANBE, December 3, 2008, Asia-Plus  — 2008 Afghan and Tajik school children are giving a performance in the assembly hall of school 141 in the city of Vahdat today afternoon, according to the UNCHR Representation in Tajikistan.

Vahdat hosts the majority of Afghan refugees who stay in Tajikistan and some 200 Afghan children currently attend local schools.

Initiated by UNHCR, RCVC and Vahdat education department, this activity brings children of different ethnic origin together, promoting tolerance and mutual understanding.

The event will take place at 2:30 p.m.
