In June this year pensioners of Khujand will use a new card-based allowance system to get their allowances. Currently they are forced to go for their pensions to Amonatbank’s offices.

Deputy manager of Amonatbank’s #23 branch office for Sughd area Badriddin Aminov told AP that apart from 14.410 pensioners from Khujand, another 31.000 pensioners from Istaravshan, Kairakkum and Bobojongafurov regions will use this system in the second half this year.

“Currently we delivered, installed and tested 49 terminals. We trained our cashiers and officers while cards are being produced in Russia,” the banker has said, adding that in June this year cards will be distributed among pensioners in Khujand and they will be able to use them.

“Currently 17.207 people in Isfara and 1.072 citizens of Taboshar use cards to get their pensions. They received cards in January this year. Till 2013 all pensioners in Sughd area will receive pensions through cards. Currently there are more than 179.000 pensioners in the region while the total volume of their pensions make 25.4mln Somoni,” he added.
