’s National Olympic Committee (NOC) has established life grant equivalent to US$50.00 to prominent veterans of Tajik sports, who made considerable contribution to development of sports in the republic, according to information from

’s NOC.  

A decision on this matter was made at a session of the NOC executive committee on December 30.   

The first holders of this life grant have become Ms. Zebunisso Rustamova, archer, bronze medal in the Olympic Games in Montreal in 1976, Ibrohim Hasanov, first participant of Olympic Games from Tajikistan, and Saidmumin Rahimov, world champion in sambo (unarmed combat), according to Farid Solehov, spokesman for the Tajik NOC.   

The session also considered and approved priorities and main directions of the NOC activities for 2005-2008, as well as appointed official representatives of the Tajik NOC to Iran, China, Afghanistan, Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan and Baltic states.
