The source in the Tajik Ministry of Energy has told Asia-Plus that the “Siloviye Mashiny” won a tender for supply of the main energy equipment for Sangtuda-1 power plant. 

Russian news agency “Biznes Novosti” reports a total cost of the contract is US$80 million. Besides “Siloviye Mashiny”, “Alstom” (France-Poland) and Elsib (Russian city of


Novosibirsk


) participated in this tender announced by the Tajik Energy Ministry in the autumn last year.   Bids made by the “Siloviye Mashiny” company proved to be the most optimal.  Production of the first bulk f the equipment is scheduled for 2007 and the first energy block of the Santuda-1 station is supposed to be put into operation in mid-2008.  

Russian concern “Siloviye Mashiny” is a leading Russian producer and supplier of equipment for hydroelectric, thermoelectric and atomic power stations, as well as transport and railways equipment.  Equipment produced by the concern’s enterprises has been installed in 87 countries across the world.
