DUSAHNBE, January 27, Asia-Plus – Chairman of Tajikistan’s Committee for Sports and Physical Training, Sulaymon Abduvohidov, has criticized regional branches of the Committee for failing to properly organize sports activities in the provinces.

“This year, we have not yet received applications from Sughd province confirming participation of sportsmen in the republic competitions,” said Abduvohidov, “Last year, more than 20 competitions in

were held without participation of athletes from Sughd.”  

According to him serious problems are facing development of sports and physical training in rural areas of the country.  Among these problems he named lack of professional teachers of physical training, low wage and poor states of stadiums and sports grounds.
