DUSHANBE, March 13, Asia-Plus  — Two persons were killed and two others were injured Thursday [March 9] as a car “Toyota” ran into two persons in the southern province of Khatlon, according to information from the Tajik traffic police press service.

The source says the accident too place on the highway from Dushanbe to Qurghon Teppa, the capital of the Khatlon province. 

“The car “Toyota” belonging to international organization ACTED moving at high speed along the Dushanbe-Qurghon Teppa highway ran into two pedestrians,” said the source, “One of the pedestrians died on the spot and the other one received serious wounds and was taken to the central district hospital.”  “The driver could not control the car and it turned over,” the Asia-Plus interlocutor said, noting that a 32-year-old citizen of France Mr. Rafael Willard [phonetically spelled], who was in the car, also died.  “The driver received wounds and was taken to the hospital,” the source said.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
