General Assembly of the NOCs’ Association was held in the Korean capital of Seoul from March 31 to April 5.  

Farid Solehov, a spokesman for the Tajik NOC, has told Asia-Plus that the session had discussed issues being of great importance for development of the Olympic movement of Tajikistan.   According to him, 500 delegates, including presidents of NOC from 202 countries of the world, too part in the work of the Assembly.  “The 15

General Assembly focused on preparations for the 2008 Olympic Games that will be held in Beijing,” the NOC spokesman said, noting the purpose of participation in the Assembly’s work was for the Tajik delegation to strengthen ties with international sports organizations that “may have positive impact on further development of the Olympic types of sports in the republic.”

General Assembly of the NOCs’ Association in Seoul.  During the meeting the two discussed issues of bilateral cooperation as well as participation of Tajikistan in the IOC programs.  “They also discussed the issue of providing Olympic grants to Tajik athletes,” Farid Solehov concluded.
