) that damaged a various areas in the district.   

According to information from the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), the worst hit areas were the Shoh and Langari Shoh jamoats, where three residential buildings were damaged partially and one residential building was destroyed completely by the disaster.  No casualties among the population were reported, according to the source.  

At the same time, mudslides killed a large number of cattle and sheep and goats in the district.   The Tojikobod emergency services in cooperation with local authorities are providing assistance to the disaster-hit population.  

In the meantime, actual volume of damage caused by heavy rainfalls and mudslides to Muminobod, Shuroobod, Temurmalik, Khuroson and Danghara districts in the Khatlon province has not yet been assessed.  As it had been reported earlier, one person was killed and at least 200 residential buildings were damaged by those mudslides in late April.  The heavy rainfalls and mudslides also damaged some 3,000 hectares of agricultural lands in the province.  

Torrential rain has also caused damage to the Asht district in northern

and to Yovon and Roghun.  

Over the first three months of the year alone, a damage caused by disasters to the country’s economy has amounted to 6.80 million Somonis, according to the MES source.
