Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, has told Asia-Plus that since May 1 this year, these 50 Somonis a month have been paid to the 82-year-old war veteran in addition to 50 Somonis that were added by the mayor’s resolution to the pension of the veterans and invalids of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 living in Dushanbe.  

“Thus, 100 Somonis a month is added to the pension of the Hero of Soviet Union Pavel Khanzhin,” the mayoral spokesman said, noting that at present 517 veterans of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 are living in the Tajik capital.
