, June 8, Asia-Plus – On Wednesday June 7, a government delegation led by Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov visited five districts in the southern


province

Khatlon

According to information from President’s Executive Office, the main purpose of the visit was for the delegation to familiarize itself with a state of agrarian sector in the region.  The delegation visited Nosir Khusrav, Shahritus, Qubodiyon, Qumsangir and Jilikul districts in Khatlon.  

A meeting held in the Shahritus district focused on problems facing cotton-growing farm in Shahritus, Nosir Khusrav and Qubodiyon districts, including supply of fuel and mineral fertilizers, as well as cotton farmers’ debts to creditors and drumming up investments.  During the meeting it was noted that compared to the previous years cotton growing in those three districts has been on a good agri-technical level.   

In Jilikul and Qumsangir, they also discussed the cotton growing problems.
