DUSHANBE, June 23, Asia-Plus – The heads of central banks from the member nations of the Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC; Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan) have gathered in the Kyrgyz capital city of Bishkek to attend the 15

meeting the council of the EAEC central bank heads set for June 23-24. 

According to information from the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT), the session is aiming to consider prospects of further cooperation between banking systems of the Community member countries.  “More than 10 issues, including the conception for the EAEC monetary cooperation, the issue of international money transfers, currency exchange rate policy and selection of the currency regime in the EAEC member countries, have been tabled to the meeting’s agenda,” the source aid.

The session is also discussing priorities and main direction of cooperation on production of banknotes, development numismatic market, production of jubilee and collection coins as well as fight against production of false money.
