            DUSHANBE, August 22, Asia-Plus – Muhammad Egamzod, press secretary of the Tajik Embassy in Moscow, has told Asia-Plus that most of the casualties were market traders, including one person from Tajikistan.  

According to him, a 24-yearold resident of the Vahdat district Muhiddin Shoyev died from injures, received during the blast, yesterday night in Moscow City Hospital # 36.  “At least six other our fellow-countrymen – Abdullo Pirov, Shokir Davlatshoyev, Zokir Shumkorov, Sino Karimov, Juraali Safarov, and the Bukhiryev brothers Juraali and Shuhrat — were injured in the market blast and hospitalized to the same hospital,” Mr. Egamzod

            “The Tajik Embassy hopes that there are no any more Tajiks among the casualties of the yesterday’s blast at the Cherkizov market,” said Mr. Egamzod, “However, during conversations with our fellow-countrymen working at the Cherkizov market we found out that several other Tajiks did not return home from job on that day.” 

In the meantime, Russian Prosecutor-General Yuri Chaika told journalists in Dushanbe following the meeting of the coordinating council of the CIS chief prosecutors that the investigation was focusing on a turf war between commercial structures, although terrorism was also under consideration.  He added that two persons had been detained on suspicion of being involved in the blast at the Cherkizov market.
