DUSHANBE, September 15, Asia-Plus – Today afternoon, President Emomali is holding separate meetings with Pakistani Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and Afghan Vice-President Ahmad Ziyo Masoud, who arrived in Dushanbe to attend the fifth session of heads of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) governments as observers.

According to information from presidential press service, a meeting of Rahmonov with Pakistani Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz will focus on energy cooperation between Tajikistan and Pakistan, in particular the project for the construction of the power-transmission line from Tajikistan to Pakistan via Afghanistan.  

Rahmonov with Afghan Vice-President Ahmad Ziyo Masoud are supposed to consider issues related to the post-war reconstruction of Afghanistan’s economy as well as prospects of further expansion of cooperation between Tajikistan in economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
