DUSHANBE, November 13, Asia-Plus – Another large fire has broken out on the Korvon market in the southern part of Dushanbe.   

Nazar Jangiyev, the head of Tajik firefighting service, said that they had a call about the fire on the Korvon market yesterday, at 6:00 a.m.  “Six fire-engines managed to extinguish the fire by 6:53 a.m.,” Jangiyev said, noting that the fire destroyed a space of some 60 square meters of the market.  No injured was reported, according to him. 

According to Jangiyev, damage caused by the fire amounts to some 3,000 somonis.

The firefighting service representatives have attributed the market fire to an electrical malfunction.  

We will recall that it is already the third fire on the Korvon market over its three-year activity.
