KONIBODOM, January 9, Asia-Plus — On Tuesday January 9, an organization of ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDPT) for Konibodom nominated acting Sughd governor Abduqohir Nazirov to run for seat in the Sughd regional legislature (Regional Majlis) in Ergashsharipov constituency # 22 in Konibodom to replace former Konibodom mayor Emin Sanginov, who had been appointed to work with one of departments of president’s executive office in Dushanbe. 

Shuhrat Ortiqov, head of the PDPT organization for Konibodom,  said his organization had also nominated acting Konibodom mayor Hiloliddin Shamsiddinov to run for seat in the Konibodom city legislation (City Majlis) in constituency # 38 to replace former Konibodom mayor Emin Sanginov.  Emin Sanginov was member of both legislatures.    

New elections to the regional legislature and the Konibodom city legislature are scheduled for February 25.  The deadline for nomination of candidates is January 25.
