DUSHANBE, February 6, Asia-Plus – On Monday February 5, President Rahmonov met in Cairo with Egyptian Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif, who is considered to be one of initiators and executors of Egypt’s economic development strategy.  

Abdufattoh Sharipov, a spokesman for the Tajik president, said that the meeting had focused on expansion of economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Egypt.  “Taking into consideration good experience of Egypt in development of hydropower, tourism and residential building President Rahmonov called on the Egyptian side to actively participate in the implementation of strategic projects in Tajikistan.”  

According to him, the sides hailed the present level of education cooperation between the two countries and spoke for further expansion of cooperation in this ear.  

“Dr Ahmed Nazif seconded Rahmonov”s proposal to set up a Tajik-Egyptian economic commission,” Sharipov said.
