DUSHANBE, March 2, Asia-Plus – On Friday March 2, Dushanbe prosecutor’s office launched inspections to check a progress of the implementation of the country’s laws on land, architecture and town planning in the capital city.  

Zebo Gulov, an official with the Dushanbe prosecutor’s office, said that a decision on inspecting the implementation of the laws was made at a joint meeting with participation of senior representatives from the capital prosecutor’s office as well as land-tenure and architecture directorates that was held in Dushanbe on February 23.  

According to her, the Dushanbe chief prosecutor Qurbonali Muhabbatov has made a decision to create five working groups comprising representatives from the law enforcement agencies and relevant municipal service for conducting the inspections.  

Gulova said that the groups will record instances of illegal seizure of lands, unauthorized construction, etc.   

According to capital prosecutor’s office, more than 60 large facilities alone had been illegally constructed in Dushanbe.  Among them are restaurants, garages, etc.  

According to Zebo Gulova, the inspections will be conducted once week during a month.
