DUSHANBE, July 9, Asia-Plus — Nourali Saidov, formerly Tajik Ambassador to Germany, has been elected to head Tajikistan’s Society for Friendship and Cultural Ties with Foreign Countries. 

Such a decision was made at the seventh Society conference in Dushanbe on July 7.  The conference was held to hear reports and elect new officials of the Society.   

A source at the Tajik Society for Friendship and Cultural Ties with Foreign Countries told Asia-Plus that the conference delegates had heard and discussed reports on the results of work carried out by the Society over the last years and elected new chairperson and new members of the Society board.

The source noted that Maysara Kalonova had been retired for age reasons.  “However, Ms. Kalonova was elected as member of the Society board,” the Asia-Plus interlocutor said.
