KHUJAND, August 23, Asia-Plus — Landslide has killed three persons in the northern Ayni district.

According to the Sughd regional emergency management directorate, the 34-year-old resident of the village of Kuroud Qurbonoi Ghufronova and her two children, the 9-year-old Maftuna and the 6-year-old Loiq, were buried by landslide. 

The source at the Sughd regional emergency management directorate said the tragedy took place Wednesday morning, at around 9:30 a.m., when the woman and her two children were extracting clay for making bricks.  “Suddenly, the hill, from which they were extracting clay, collapsed, burring them,” the source said.  

Their dead bodies were found only by remains of the day, the source said.
