DUSHANBE, December 13, Asia-Plus  — Tajikistan Red Crescent Society (RCS) has turned 80.

Activities to mark the 80th anniversary of RCS were organized in Dushanbe yesterday.

Deputy Prime Minister Khairinisso Yusufi delivered a message of congratulations on behalf of President Emomali Rahmon at a ceremonial meeting that was held on the Tajik capital on this occasion on Wednesday.   

Representatives from the government, various ministries and organizations, as well as  Tajik Delegations of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the International Committee for Red Cross (ICRC) attended the meeting.  An award ceremony for the most active volunteers of RCS was held during the meeting and documentary about the RCS activities was shown.   

Tajikistan’s Red Crescent Society now has more than 8,000 volunteers, who are participating in all projects run by the Society.
