DUSHANBE, February 8, Asia-Plus  — The Dushanbe power and heat plant now generates electrical power at the rate of 2.8-3 million kWh per day, Asia-Plus has learned from Rahmatullo Qalandarov, the engineer-in-chief of the Dushanbe power and heat plant.

According to him, the plant currently works on natural gas (65 percent) and fuel oil (35 percent).

Qalandarov added that the plant’s fuel oil supplies are enough until the end of heating season (late March)

Constructed in 1968, the Dushanbe heat and power plant has the rated capacity of 198 megawatt.  It mainly works on natural gas; however, fuel oil is also used as reserve fuel.
