Dushanbe, February 18, Asia-Plus – For the last days Tajikistan have received from neighboring republics some 10 million kwh of electricity, including 7.5 million kwh from Turkmenistan, 0.2 million kwh from Kyrgyzstan and 2.6 million kwh from Uzbekistan, said Gulomjon Bobozoda,

Minister of Economic Development and Trade, at presentation of extraordinary statement of government to the world community. According to him republican hydroelectric power stations have produced 21.7 million kwh of electricity for the last 24 hours.







Concerning issues related the present water level in Nurek reservoir and it’s use he marked that the present level of water is 857.8 meter (to the critical level remained only 80 cm) and the evacuation of water, results of decreased produce of electricity in Nurek


hydroelectric power station, for the last 24 hours became 10 cm it’s 35-40 cm less that usual.





In the meantime, G.Bobozoda did not comment the level of afflux of water to the reservoir.





To give such comments abstain Pulod Muhiddinov, First Deputy Minister of Energy and Industry, in one part he reminded that in past autumn were reached agreement on supplying of electricity in autumn-winter period to Tajikistan with Turkmenistan totaling 1.2 billion kwh and 600 million kwh from Uzbekistan.





“For example, in December 2007 we received from that countries 300 million kwh, But in January only 80 million kwh, because of situation in that coutries” said he.





Answering to the question related the

favor, he said that


Turkmenistan


has already increased power supply to 7.5 million kwh.




Commenting perspectives of use of Sangtuda HPP-1, he said that to the end of December when all four units will work it will give an opportunity to produce only in autumn-winter period additional 1.1 billion kwh of electricity.
