KULOB, March 3, Asia-Plus  — After being closed for two months due to severe energy shortages, all 27 industrial enterprises in Kulob resumed operation on Monday, the Kulob mayor Homid Abdulloyev said in an interview with Asia-Plus. 

According to him, they will have reached their full capacities by the end of this week.  The mayor noted that local industrial enterprises had suffered an estimated more than 3 million somonis in economic damage from electricity shortages over the report period.        

He also noted that electricity supplies to residential consumers in the city of Kulob and administrative centers of districts had increased by two hours.  “The supply of daily electricity to residents of the city and administrative centers of the districts has increased from eight to ten hours,” the mayor said, noting that rural residents are still without electricity.
