DUSHANBE, March 7, Asia-Plus — China’s Society of Friendship with Foreign Countries held a reception on occasion of the 15th anniversary of signing of a Joint Tajikistan-China Declaration on Main Principles of Relationships, Asia-Plus has learned at the Tajik Embassy in Beijing.      

Speaking at the reception, Mr. Chzhan Degun (phonetically spelled), the head of China’s Society of Friendship with Foreign Countries, noted that over the past 15 years, contacts between China and Tajikistan have been expanding and the countries have managed to resolve the border issue, which was a legacy of history.    

He noted that the countries have good opportunities for further expansion of bilateral cooperation and stated that joint efforts of the two countries could promote raising level of their political, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation to new highs.  

For his part, Tajik Ambassador to China, Mr. Rashid Alimov, named mutual confidence an important factor that has contributed to further expansion of partnership between Tajikistan and China.
