DUSHANBE, March 15, Asia-Plus  — Tajik Health Minister Nusratullo Salimov heading Tajik delegation was on a visit to Iran on March 8-13.

According to press service of the Ministry of Health (MoH), Salimov and his and his Iranian counterpart, Kamran Baqeri Lankarani, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on medical, educational and medicine cooperation in Tehran on March 10.   

The document provides for expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Iran in the fields of medicine, medical training, sanitation and medical affairs. 

During its stay in Iran, Tajik delegation visited several Iranian medical universities and colleges. 

Medical universities in Iran’s cities of Tehran, Tebriz, Gorgan and Mashhad expressed readiness to cooperate with Tajik Medical University in exchanging trained manpower, the MoH press service said.    

            Besides a number of Iranian pharmaceutical companies showed interest to launch joint ventures in Tajikistan on producing medicines from local raw materials. 

The singed document also provides construction of a cardiac surgery clinic in Tajikistan under support of the Iranian side.
