DUSHANBE, March 17, Asia-Plus  — A two-day session of the working group for harmonization of a draft convention on legal status of the CIS labor migrants and their families within the CIS Executive Committee Заседание will be held in Minsk, Belarus, on March 18-19, press release issued by the CIS Executive Committee said.

The CIS council of heads of government considered the draft document at a November 22, 2007 meeting and by proposal of Russia’s Federation Council it was submitted for consideration to the CIS council of heads of migration services. 

On January 29 2008, the CIS migration service heads decided to organizer expert improvement of the draft convention with regard for proposals of the Russian Federation and submit it the next session of the council, which will be held in St. Petersburg on April 2-3.
