DUSHANBE, April 1, Asia-Plus  — A drug cache containing a large amount of heroin and hashish has been discovered in GBAO’s Murgab district, Asia-Plus has learned at head office of the Drug Control Agency (DCA) in Dushanbe.

A source at the DCA headquarters said the cache was discovered by officers from the GBAO counternarcotics directorate at the abandoned quarry near the Alichour settlement on March 31.  13 packages containing some three kilograms of heroin and 11.7 kilograms of hashish were extracted from the hide, according to the source.    

The GBAO counternarcotics directorate has instituted criminal proceedings and a special group has been set up to expose the cache holders.
