DUSHANBE, April 1, Asia-Plus  — A large amount of drugs has been intercepted by police in Sughd’s Ayni district, Asia-plus has learned at the Ministry of Interior (MoI). 

The source at a MoI said that a package containing 7.148 kilograms of marijuana was confiscated from a driver of heavy truck KAMAZ on March 31.  The driver was detained on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking.    

Besides, an inspection of passengers on the Dushanbe-Moscow flight found a package containing 245 grams in a luggage belonging to the Dushanbe resident R. Sh.  R. Sh. was detained.   

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against them and an investigation is under way.
