DUSHANBE, April 5, Asia-Plus  — During his stay in Bucharest, Romania, Tajik Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi held a number of bilateral meetings with his counterparts, according to the Tajik MFA information department.

Mr. Zarifi, in particular, met with the Afghan Foreign Minister Rangin Dadfar Sepanta, the Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos, and the Belgium Foreign Minister Karel De Gucht.  The meetings were held on the sidelines of the 20th NATO summit that was held in Bucharest on April 2-4.  On the sidelines of the summit, Tajik Foreign Minister also met with Mr. Robert Simmons, the NATO Secretary General’s Special representative for Caucasus and Central Asia.     

The talks focused on interaction within the framework of the NATO, latest developments in Afghanistan, aspects of bilateral cooperation as well as international and regional issues being of mutual interest, the MFA source.
