DUSHANBE, April 17, Asia-Plus  — 22 issues were considered at an April 16 sitting of the fourth session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament), presided over by its head Saydullo Khairulloyev.  

The lower house of the parliament gave its consent to allocating further 30 million somonis (TJS) for providing in loans to cotton-growing farms through the country’s banking system.  

The session also adopted a new law on treasury and approved amendments to the laws on self-government bodies in settlements and villages, licensing certain types of activities, courts, safety in industry, agreement on division of property, as well as well as the land, criminal, tax, customs and administrative codes.  

In the meantime, consideration of the draft law on commercial secret was deferred to the next sitting of the session.  

MPs also ratified UN convention against corruption and protocol on amendments to the agreement on legal status of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
