QURGHON TEPPA, June 23, 2008, Asia-Plus — A regional conference of the ruling People Democratic Party of Tajikistan (PDPT) that was held in Surgeon Teppa, the capital of the Khatlon province on June 21 nominated Ms. Saodat Amirshoyev, the chairperson of the Khatlon justice directorate, to run in the by-election in Qurghon Teppa constituency # 26, Asia-Plus has learned from the PDPT regional organization for Khatlon.
The by-election, scheduled for August 10, is called following appointment of Asomuddin Saidov, who formerly represented Qurghon Teppa in the parliament, as Tajikistan’s Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan.
