ISFARA, June 25, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Farmers in Sughd’s Isfara district have produced more than 180 tons of silk cocoons, overfulfilling this year’s target by 10.7 percent, Abdullo Sidiqov, the head of the local silkworm-breeding enterprise, Pillai Isfara, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.  

According to him, the best results have been shown by farmers from the Lenin farm, who have produced 34 tons of silk cocoons.  The cocoon-producing campaign in the farming units Chorkuh and Vorukh is also nearing completion.
