DUSHANBE, June 28, Asia-Plus  — On Thursday June 26, President Emomali Rahmon received visiting head of Export Development Bank of Iran’s (EDBI) Board of Directors Koroush Parviziyan.  

According to presidential press service, financing of joint projects being implanted in Tajikistan was a major topic of the talks.   

The sides discussed issues related to opportune investment in construction of the hydropower plant Sangtuda-2, Chormaghzak tunnel and a number of Tajik-Iranian projects being implemented in the agrarian, construction and textile sectors as well as trade.  

During the meeting, Koroush Parviziyan noted that Iran intends in cooperation with one of Tajik banks to launch a joint enterprise to support enhancement of agrarian sector in Tajikistan, the press service said.  The joint enterprise could be engaged in purchase of agricultural machines and equipment.  

The Export Development Bank of Iran (EDBI) was established in 1991 with the objective of increasing Iran”s exports and developing trade with other countries.  It has 28 branches all across Iran and a representative office in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
