DUSHANBE, July 1, 2008, Asia-Plus — On Monday June 30, the newly appointed Kazakh Ambassador to Tajikistan, Abutalip Akhmetov, presented a copy of credentials to Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi, according to the Tajik MFA.
In the course of the talks, the two discussed a broad range of issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan.
Zarifi and Akhmetov also exchanged views on the upcoming meeting of the council of foreign ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) that will be held in Dushanbe on July 25 as well as a number of issues related to cooperation both in bilateral and multilateral formats.
We will recall that by Kazakh president’s decree Abutalip Akhmetov was appointed the Kazakh Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Tajikistan, replacing Yerlan Abildayev, who was appointed the Kazakh Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Canada.
