DUSHANBE, July 17, 2008, Asia-Plus  — A two-day meeting of experts from the CIS states to coordinate a draft agreement on the procedure of recognition of documents for training and certification of the industry safety specialists was held in Minsk, Belarus on July 15-16, Ms. Maria Gutsalo, a spokeswoman for the CIS Interstate Committee, said.  

The draft agreement was worked out by the Ukrainian State Committee for Industry Safety and Mining Supervision and endorsed by the session of the Interstate Committee for Industry Safety in August 2007.  Under this document, the CIS states are to observe concerted norms and rules of admitting personnel to work, operate mechanisms and equipment at dangerous production facilities.   

The countries pledge themselves to mutually recognize documents on training and certification of the industry safety specialists.    

After coordination, the document will be submitted for consideration to the council of the CIS heads of government, the spokeswoman said.
