DUSHANBE, July 17, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Preparations for autumn-winter 2008-2009 was major topic of the 14th session of the Dushanbe legislature (Majlis) that was held on July 17.

The session heard reports of deputies of the Dushanbe mayor, heads of relevant municipal services as well as managers of Tojikgaz (Tajik state natural-gas distributor) and Barqi Tojik (Tajik electric systems) power holding and assessed preparations taken to ensure regular work of Dushanbe’s economy during the winter months as insufficient.  

The session charged relevant bodies and officials to remove existing shortcomings by September 20.  

Speaking at the session, Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev asked the Dushanbe chief prosecutor Qurbonali Muhabbatov to take implementation of that resolution under his control.
