 DUSHANBE, August 4, 2008, Asia-Plus  — President Emomali Rahmon is visiting the Vahdat district, some 17 kilometers to the east of Dushanbe, on August 5, according to presidential press service.

The purpose of the visit is for the president to get acquainted with the present socioeconomic situation in the region. 

During his stay in Vahdat, the president will address a meeting of administrators of the provinces and districts subordinate to the center to discuss economic results of the country’s agrarian sector in the first half-year of 2008.      

Emomali Rahmon will also visit a number of farming units, including the poultry farm Navrouz, in the district and preside over the republican seminar to discuss prospects of development of the agrarian sector in the second half-year of 2008, presidential press service said.
