DUSHANBE, August 27, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Visiting Chinese President Hu Jintao met with chairmen of both chambers of Tajik parliament Wednesday afternoon.

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Shavkat Saidov, an aide to chairman of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament) for public relations, said that in the course of the talks, Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, speaker of the Majlisi Milli, and Saydullo Khairulloyev, speaker of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament), had expressed gratitude to the Chinese side for effective and fruitful cooperation.  

Tajik speakers expressed their readiness to promote further expansion of cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries, the aide.
