DUSHANBE, September 4, 2008, Asia-Plus  — The 8th session of the council of heads of supreme financial control institutions of the CIS states opened at Russia’s Chamber of Accounts in Moscow today.   

 Alimurod Mahmadaliyev, deputy director of the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption, is representing Tajikistan at this meeting.   

The source at the anticorruption agency said that the session is expected to result in adoption of a resolution on a role of the supreme financial control institutions in working out and using key national indicators and developing audit in the CIS states.   

The session participants are also supposed to sign an agreement on use of the National Research Institute for Systemic Analysis at Russia’s Chamber of Accounts as a base organization for state and international financial control studies, according to the source.   

            The council of heads of supreme financial control institutions of the CIS states was established in 2000 in order to strengthen interaction between the institutions and coordination of their activities.  Tajikistan is represented by the anticorruption agency in this council.
