DUSHANBE, September 12, 2008, Asia-Plus  — On Thursday September 11, President Emomali Rahmon congratulated Asif Ali Zardari upon his election as President of Pakistan.

According to presidential press service, in his message of congratulations, Rahmon, in particular,  noted that Tajikistan highly appraised the present level of mutually beneficial relations with Pakistan that meet interests of both countries.    

He expressed confidence that multi-aspect cooperation between Tajikistan and Pakistan will expand in the future as well as on the basis of mutual respect and responsiveness to mutual interests.
