DUSHANBE, September 23, 2008, Asia-Plus — A video bridge was organized today to hold a two-way interactive meeting between residents of Dushanbe and Dushanbe’s Sister City in the United States, Boulder, today.

The video bridge was organized at a new cyber café, which is reciprocal gift of Boulder.  The café was officially opened in Dushanbe’s Druzhba Narodov Park Tuesday morning.

The U.S. Ambassador to Tajikistan, Ms. Tracey Ann Jacobson, Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, and his Boulder counterpart, Mayor Shaun McGrath, attended the event.

The cyber café is reciprocal gift to Dushanbe.  In 1989, Dushanbe sent to Boulder a teahouse.

During 2007, the Boulder-Dushanbe Sister City (BDSC) organization selected a contractor to build the cyber café in Dushanbe and completed fundraising for the project.

The cyber café includes a library with some 1,000 various books and 24 computers.
