DUSHANBE, October 14, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Over the third quarter (July-September) of this year, Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) has granted some 2,000 certificates of origin, the deputy CCI head, Asanali Karamaliyev, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.

Over the report period, the CCI has also given 37 licenses for exporting the light industry goods to Europe. 

Karamaliyev added that the Chamber had rendered some 1 million somoni worth of services to its members over the same three-month period, having overfulfilled the target by 48 percent.  

“The Chamber has concluded cooperation agreements with 182 chambers of commerce in other countries to date,” said the deputy head, “As of October 1, 2008, 400 enterprises and organizations have been members of the Tajik Chamber of Commerce.”  According to him, the Chamber’s representative office recently established in New Delhi has brought the total number of its representative offices to 51.  

The Chamber is currently making preparations to its 17th congress that will be held at the Kokhi Vahdat State Complex in Dushanbe on October 17.
