DUSHANBE, November 12, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi yesterday met with visiting U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs, Ambassador George A. Krol.  

According to the MFA information department, the two expressed satisfaction with the present level of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and the United States.  

In the course of the talks, Zarifi and Krol considered a number of international and regional issues being of mutual interest as well as the present situation in Afghanistan, water-and-energy problems and regional cooperation in Central Asia.
