KULOB, November 14, 2008, Asia-Plus  — The Kulob regional prosecutor’s office issued warrants for arrest of the resident of the Kulob district Abdulmumin Karimov and employee with the Kulob branch of The First MicroFinance Bank of Tajikistan (FMFB-T) Alisher Gouriyev, Alfattoh Roziqov, deputy Khatlon prosecutor in charge of the Kulob region, told Asia-Plus today. 

According to him, criminal proceedings have been instituted against them under the provisions of three articles of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – Article 247 (fraud), Article 265 (illegal allowance of credit) and Article 347 (forgery).  

Roziqov said, “Acting in collusion, Karimov and Gouriyev drawn up forged documents and took US$14,000 in loans from the FMFB-T’s branch in Kulob.”  Karimov used passports of his five relatives for taking loans, the deputy prosecutor said.   

“During the preliminary investigation, Karimov has recouped the loans,” Roziqov said.
