KHUJAND, December 25, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Cases of many Sughd tax-dodgers have moved to the regional economic court this year.

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the Sughd regional tax inspectorate chief Azim Tursunov said that the Sughd regional economic has considered 323 actions for a total amount of 46,887,682 somoni this year.

“85 banks accounts of enterprises and organizations have been closed and the court has ordered to distrain upon 10,393,795 somoni worth of property,” Tursunov said, noting that more than 6.847 million somoni of taxes have been retuned to the Sughd budget through the regional economic court.

Last year, the Sughd regional economic court considered 258 actions for a total amount of 32,162,203 somoni and ordered to attach the property for a total amount of 11,003,152 somoni.
