DUSHANBE, December 26, 2008, Asia-Plus  — The 16th session of the Dushanbe city legislature (Majlis) of the third convocation that was held on December 25 discussed the city’s economic results in 2008 and tasks for 2009, Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said.

Speaking at the session, Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev noted that two 20-storey business centers will be built in the center of Dushanbe in 2001 on occasion of the 20th anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence.

The mayor noted that compared to 2007 Dushanbe’s main macroeconomic indicators increased despite the ongoing global financial crisis.

The session considered and endorsed the Dushanbe budget for 2009 and confirmed a number o resolutions passed by the mayor.
