DUSHANBE, January 6, 2009, Asia-Plus — The board (Shuro) of Tajikistan’s lower chamber (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament considered a bill setting a term for putting Tajikistan’s criminal-procedural code into effect at a January 5 meeting presided over by its speaker, Saydullo Khairulloyev.
Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, said that the board had also considered amendments to the law on licensing certain types of activities and a government-to-government agreement between Tajikistan and Pakistan on mutual protection of investments.
All these issues will be considered at a regular sitting of the fifth session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the third convocation that will be held in mid-January, the spokesman said.
