Central Asia Regional Information and Coordination Centre will be established to combat illegal trafficking of drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan signed an agreement on establishment of the Centre on 26 January in 2006.
The Centre as a juridical figure will be financed through funds of the donor states, aids of international organizations and endowments of the member-countries.
The Centre will coordinate efforts in struggle against illegal drugs turnover, creation of mutual contact mechanisms among authoritative bodies and assistance in strengthening struggle of the participant-countries against international organized crimes on illegal drugs trafficking.
