State Property Committee of Uzbekistan in cooperation with Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Justice is working on development of law “On privatization of state property”.

Current law “On privatization of state property” was developed in 1991 and now there is a need to adopt new edition of the law.

It is expected that the new edition of the law will reflect modern trends in privatization practice and experience of the country.

The law will regulate privatization process of state property and effective use of privatized objects.

It is planned that Cabinet of Ministers will receive the law for consideration in May 2009 and Legislative Chamber will get it in June.
